TASKS WITH IMPACT

 

  • Develop and implement data-driven models and algorithms using Data Science and Advanced Analytics to analyze and solve complex problems in the retail sector
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data science and AI use cases to promote data-driven decision-making, generate business-relevant insights, and optimize the omnichannel experience for customers
  • Perform analyses and modeling on topics such as customer behavior, product recommendations, demand forecasting, and inventory management. As a generalist, you are flexible and ready to work on diverse use cases from different departments, guided by potential impact and value-driven prioritization
  • Take responsibility for designing, conducting, and analyzing experiments, deriving well-founded recommendations for action
  • Play a central role in advancing Douglas's data-driven strategy, actively supporting the promotion of data and AI topics across the company
  • Seamlessly integrate your solutions into existing processes and tools, collaborating closely with colleagues from various departments and IT
  • Present your findings in an engaging manner, communicate them to different stakeholders, and contribute to fostering a data-driven company culture
  • Mentor colleagues to develop their data science and AI skills

 

YOUR SKILLSET

 

  • A successfully completed degree with an analytical focus, e.g., in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field
  • Solid experience in applying data science techniques, such as predictive analytics, machine learning, or statistical analyses, particularly in retail use cases
  • Proven programming skills in Python, along with experience in data processing tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Spark, Snowflake)
  • An understanding of causal relationships and the ability to design, conduct, and interpret experiments
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations, particularly GDPR, and their application in data-driven projects
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to leverage data as a tool for achieving business goals
  • Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders
  • Fluency in English; German proficiency is an advantage
